Thing a Day: 2, 3, 4, ?
On Saturday morning, I organized my 'current projects' bin which meant untangling about 10 skeins of yarn from each other. There were several in progress projects whose skeins had been caught up in the huge mess but somehow or other (with much patience) I managed to free all my projects. I decided to start on the projects I can finish up now and still wear them while it's cold out. And so I picked up once again the dreaded the 4 double pointed needles project. It's not difficult at all but I still can't get very comfortable holding all the needles so it takes me a lot longer to make progress on it. That and I don't like taking this project on the train since it's not all too comfortable. Considering most of my knitting happens on the train, you can see why it's been over a year and I only had 1 wristwarmer done until this weekend. On Saturday, I picked up the needles and went to work on the 2nd one. I've worked on it quite a bit - listened to a podcast and some music and yet.. it's about 4 inches on its way.
Hopefully this will take a week to complete.. hopefully. Anyone have tips on how to make working with dpns a little easier?

Hi! I found you on Thing-A-Day.
Now that you've got that much done, I wouldn't worry about holding all the needles. I just hold the two I need, and don't mind the others till I get there.
Those are super pretty, btw!
Totally unhelpful, but I never got the hang of dpns. I wanted to do socks and wristwarmers so much, though, so I figured out how to do the 2 circ method and now I've moved to just using magic loop. I think working on the dpns looks much more impressive, especially to non-knitters! I think some people have an easier time working with a 5th needle..?
Ooh, I like those colors together. Especially in the moss/popcorn stitch.
